The EPA has provided funding for Bridgeport, Stamford, Norwalk MSA to create a regional GHG inventory, a priority climate action plan and comprehensive climate action plan focused on significant and meaningful emissions reduction, through the Climate Pollution Reduction Grant Program. Our planning process is being led by MetroCOG in collaboration with WestCOG and NVCOG. This process will detail short-term high impact decarbonization* efforts, inventory of current emissions, and a full analysis of the long term impacts of all potential reduction measures. This covers activities associated with buildings, transportation, solid waste, wastewater, and land use.
*decarbonization refers to reducing or removing carbon and other greenhouse gases
