The laws in Connecticut prevent the person in charge of public health in a local area from giving permission to drill a well at a house where people will drink the water, or at a business where people might drink the water, if there is already a public water system within 200 feet of the property. However, in some cases, they can make an exception to this rule. The form below is used to ask the Drinking Water Section if the Director of Health can make an exception. Even though the Director of Health is the one asking for the exception, the form helps the property owner gather the information needed for the Department to review the request.
