Same Day Registration (SDR)

The pre-election mail in voter registration cutoff deadline is eighteen (18) days before an election or primary.  For general elections, Connecticut also has Same Day Registration (SDR) available during the period of Early Voting and on Election Day for voters who need it.

Same Day Registration permits anyone who meets the eligibility requirements  for voting in this state and is not already registered or is registered in one town but has moved to another town, to register and vote in person. 

Same Day Registration is not available at your polling location but is available at a designated SDR location during the Early Voting hours and on Election Day.  You will register and vote at the designated SDR location in your town.   If you are in line at the SDR  location by the close of the polls you may remain in line to complete your registration and vote.  

• Same Day Registration is available October 21-31 and November 1-3:  10am - 6pm 
• October 29 and 31 Early Voting is available 8am - 8pm.
• Election Day November 5, 2024 

Early Voting 

Early Voting will take place:

• October 21 - 31 from 10am - 6pm
• November 1 - 3 from 10am - 6pm
• October 29 and 31 form 8am - 8pm

The Presidential Election will be held on November 5, 2024, city wide. All 24 polling locations will be open from 6am – 8pm.
