The American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) of 2021 was signed into law on March 11, 2021.  The legislation established the Coronavirus-19 State and local Fiscal Recovery Fund (SLFRF) to support state and local governments as they address the health and economic impacts of COVID-19 on their communities.  The City of Bridgeport was allocated $110 million.  Funding for recovery from the pandemic is in accordance with U.S. Treasury Department rules.  Fiscal Recovery Funds must be used for eligible use categories which include responding to the public health emergency or its negative economic impacts, assistance to households / small businesses / nonprofits, aid to impacted industries, and eligible capital infrastructure projects.  The City expending ARP dollars to small businesses, infrastructure projects, and program services addressing the impacts of COVID-19.
