Notice 04/30/2024: The East Side Farmers Market is waiting to receive the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) cards from the Connecticut Department of Agriculture. 

SFMNP provides benefits to participants that are 60 years of age or older OR is a disabled individuals under the age of 60 living in housing facilities occupied primarily by older individuals where congregate nutrition services are provided. Individuals must have a household income of not more than 185% of the annual poverty income guidelines

The East Side Farmers Market was launched by the Bridgeport Health Department to increase access to healthy foods in the East Side. For more than 13 years, this market has provided fresh fruits and vegetables to Bridgeport and East Side residents. Every Wednesday during the summer, residents can come to the market to shop for fresh local produce. 



Join us at 752 East Main Street, in the parking lot of the Social Services building.

Senior FMNP checks are distributed at this locations starting at the end of July/early August. Please bring a driver’s license/identification card and income statement. The market is open to all and also accepts cash and card as form of payment. Please feel free to email us if you have any questions.

The market is along Bus route 9.
