BRIDGEPORT, CT— Today, Mayor Ganim announced the appointment of Frank Magneri as the new Director of the Office of Policy & Management.

Magneri recently transferred from the Town of Fairfield where he worked as the Deputy Treasurer and lead the development and management of the Town’s $350M operating budget. Magneri began his career at the New York State Division of the Budget, where his primary focus was the aid and incentives to municipalities portfolio. Meanwhile, Magneri was a part of a team of analysts working with the New York State Financial Restructuring Board, where struggling municipalities were assessed across the state. In this role, Magneri contributed to detailed reports proposing cost-cutting measures and efficiency improvements, which were eligible for matching State grants. Through consulting with various local governments, Magneri quickly realized that local government was his calling. With his eyes set on local government, Magneri went to work as the Deputy Treasurer for a local government in Westchester County followed by a move to the Town of Fairfield.

Magneri has earned a B.S./B.A. in Economics & Public Administration from NYS University at Albany, an M.S. in Public Administration from the Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy, and a Certificate in Accounting from Fairfield University. Magneri will now serve as the Director of OPM for the City of Bridgeport, where he looks forward to collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to support the City’s financial health and growth
