Mayor Ganim and the City of Bridgeport Celebrate Affinity Dispensary with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
Bridgeport, CT – Today, a ribbon was cut at Bridgeport’s first cannabis dispensary, Affinity Dispensary. Located in the West End, the 2000 Commerce Drive dispensary is one of four locations that are set to open throughout Bridgeport. Ray Pantalena, operator of Affinity, has named this privately-owned location as a “superstore” as it’s measured at 8,000 square feet; leaving more than enough room to service adult users and medical patients. Because of its size, Affinity Bridgeport is now known to be the largest dispensary in Connecticut and will create 50 new jobs in total while pouring 3% of its sales tax back into Bridgeport through the Cannabis Trust Fund: an initiative currently in progress with the Bridgeport City Council. This trust fund will contribute to many projects within the City, including working with Bridgeport’s Neighborhood Revitalization Zones (NRZ), fund youth programs, and tend to other quality of life issues within Bridgeport.
Mayor Ganim stated, “I think it’s amazing that Affinity Dispensary has chosen Bridgeport for their second dispensary location. The amount of community involvement that Affinity has committed to is greatly appreciated. Local jobs have been created and because of the Cannabis Trust Fund, Bridgeport will largely benefit from the investment poured back into the community. We’re very happy to have Affinity Dispensary here in Bridgeport and we look forward to what this site will bring to our City.”
