Mayor Ganim and the Bridgeport Legislative Delegation Celebrate the Start of the 2024 Legislative Session at the State Capitol
Bridgeport, CT – Yesterday, Mayor Ganim joined the Bridgeport legislative delegation to celebrate the opening day of the 2024 Legislative Session at the State Capitol in Hartford.
Mayor Ganim and his administration have prepared and discussed legislative priorities with the Bridgeport delegation. Mayor Ganim’s priorities include increased state aid to offset the property tax burden on Bridgeport tax payers, lower the CT auto tax, increase education dollars to the Bridgeport Public Schools, address public safety, increase funding for local infrastructure improvement projects, address critical election reform measures, among other proposals.
“I want to wish the Bridgeport delegation, the entire Connecticut General Assembly and Governor Lamont a productive legislative session focused on addressing the many needs of our state, especially our urban centers,” stated Mayor Ganim. “I am proud of the fruitful results we have achieved through open communication and partnership with the Bridgeport delegation and Governor Lamont. I know that our delegation will continue to work hard and produce real results for the people of Bridgeport.”
Members of the Bridgeport Legislative delegation include Senator Marilyn Moore (D-22), Senator Herron Gaston (D-23), State Rep. Andre Baker (D-124), State Rep. Fred Gee (D-126), State Rep. Marcus Brown (D-127), State Rep. Christopher Rosario (D-128), State Rep. Steve Stafstrom (D-129), State Rep. Antonio Felipe (D-130), and State Rep. Cristin McCarthy Vahey (D-133).
The legislative session runs from February 7 to May 8, 2024.
