Emergency Operations Center Director, Scott Appleby, Receives Certified Emergency Manager Designation
Bridgeport, CT – This month, Scott Appleby, Director of Bridgeport’s Emergency Operations Center, received recognition from the International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM) for being among the group of professionals who has maintained the Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) designation. Appleby is one of 2,272 individuals in emergency management to currently receive the designation and has previously been qualified as a CEM after displaying a program of professional development over consecutive five-year periods. To earn and maintain this credential, professionals must submit a package providing personal and professional background achievements, partnered by completing a written examination. The CEM designation is a rigorous achievement to maintain and represents the highest honor or professional achievement to be presented by the IAEM with more than 6,000 members being a part of the Association.
