Who Are We?
The Housing & Community Development Department works to address and mitigate the effects of poverty, homelessness and substandard housing in the city of Bridgeport.
The City of Bridgeport is an entitlement community, thereby receiving federal funding from the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) on an annual basis. These funds are distributed to eligible entities through a competitive application process, generally beginning in January of each year. The City distributes the funds to subrecipients, ensuring they adhere to the grant requirements that HUD has outlined.
