About the Police Commission
The purpose of the Board of Police Commissioners is to establish departmental policies, goals and objectives; review and approve rules and regulations as recommended by the Chief of Police and conduct hearings concerning officer disciplinary actions which involve citizen complaints against officers.
The Board serves as the second step for citizen complaints investigated by Internal Affairs, and it serves as the traffic authority for the City.
