MAYOR GANIM, CITY OF BRIDGEPORT TO JOIN FLAG RAISING CEREMONY IN
RECOGNITION OF PRIDE MONTH
WHO: Mayor Joseph Ganim, Bridgeport State Rep. Steve Stafstrom, City Council, community members
WHAT: Mayor Joe Ganim will recognize Pride Month with a Flag Raising ceremony. Bridgeport City Council Member Marcus Brown and his fiancé Thomas Gaudett will assist in raising the flag and provide remarks. Council President Aidee Nieves will be speaking. A member of the CT Gay Men’s Chorus will sing the National Anthem. Rev. Sara Smith will do the Invocation. Students from Central High School’s LGBT Club will be in attendance. Former State Rep. Joe Grabarz, the first openly gay legislator in Connecticut, will give a brief history of the LGBTQ+ movement.
