We Remember:    On April 23, 1987, seven floors of the completed L’Ambiance structure crumbled inward and collapsed due to faulty lift slab construction.  The collapse resulted in the death of 28 construction workers and injured 22 workers with a search and rescue operation that lasted for 10 days.  Every year, City officials, organized labor unions, family members, and friends have gathered to remember and pay tribute to the workers who died, the families, the rescue workers and all those who assisted in any way during and after the collapse.
