7/2/2020 - City of Bridgeport Announces Library Services, Holiday Schedule in Observance of Independence Day, Reminder About Parks Safety Protocols

CITY OF BRIDGEPORT ANNOUNCES LIBRARY SERVICES, HOLIDAY SCHEDULE IN OBSERVANCE OF INDEPENDENCE DAY, REMINDER ABOUT PARKS SAFETY PROTOCOLS


Bridgeport, CT - City of Bridgeport announces update on library operations in accordance with Reopen CT guidelines as well as the upcoming schedule for the transfer station, recycling, and brown bag collection in observance of Independence Day, plus a reminder for Bridgeport residents about proper protocols for attending city parks.

Bridgeport libraries have begun Quick Pick-Up services, which allows Bridgeport residents to place holds on materials to be picked up at a prearranged appointment time at Burrough Library and North Branch Library.  East Side and Black Rock branches will begin Quick Pick-Up service on Monday, July 13th.    Visit BportLibrary.org to reserve materials and to make an appointment.  

The Transfer station will be closed Friday, July 3rd and Saturday July 4th in observance of Independence Day.   Trash and recycling will be on schedule while brown bag collection will be delayed by one day.

As the holiday weekend approaches, please be reminded that parks are open to Bridgeport residents only and limited to 50% capacity. City officials remind residents that we are still in a pandemic and to be mindful of all protective measures for their health and public safety. Wear a protective face covering and social distance when appropriate in public settings as well as while attending any place of business; restaurant or retail. Residents are also encouraged to be tested for COVID-19, information can be found at bridgeportct.gov/coronavirus.
