Bridgeport Health Director Bond Announces Veterans Services to be Relocated on Same Site
Building repairs to take Place Without Interruption in Services
Bridgeport, CT – The Health Department will soon close its doors at its current location at 752 E. Main Street that serves local veterans. The Veterans Division will be relocating to modular units on the same site while building repairs take place at 752 East Main Street. The Veterans Division will continue to offer the same services and transportation for participating veterans without interruption.
Maritza Bond, Health Director stated, “We have been working diligently to relocate our staff and clients in a seamless manner to ensure that veterans still have access to the services offered at the health department. While we didn’t want to close our doors, the building structure may pose a safety hazard. My priority is the safety of our staff and constituents, so I am acting in a proactive manner without disrupting the services. I am also looking forward to soon announcing our new coordinator to the Veterans staff.”
In addition to this announcement, council members have suggested that city veterans that are eligible may take advantage of the 50/50 sidewalk program and will receive an additional savings when they participate. The administration is currently working on establishing an eligibility criteria to make this added discount possible to extend to our veterans.
