Mayor Ganim Names Constance Vickers as Bridgeport Director of Legislative Affairs

Bridgeport, CT – Mayor Joe Ganim today announced the appointment of Constance Vickers as Bridgeport Director of Legislative Affairs. Vickers replaces Av Harris as Director of Legislative Affairs and Public Policy in the Ganim Administration. In her new role, Vickers will represent the Mayor’s Office to manage the City of Bridgeport’s legislative agenda on state, local and federal government affairs.

“I am proud to welcome Constance to our administration and maintain our voice in Hartford,” said Mayor Ganim. “Constance has built strong relationships with many political leaders and lawmakers regionally and within our community for the past several years that will serve her well in this role.”

In her most recent position, she served as Alumni and Events Coordinator at Housatonic Community College. Previously, she was the Director of Grants and Foundation Relationships at Boys & Girls Club of Stamford, Inc. She is active in the city of Bridgeport community serving as a board member of the Black Rock Farmers Market and is a founding member of the Thrive Young Professionals, an affiliate of the BRBC.

"I am humbled to have the opportunity to serve my city in this capacity. Over the last few years I have been cultivating relationships with legislators, lobbyists and stakeholders all across the state through political and issue-based advocacy,” said Vickers. “Thanks to these relationships, I’ll hit the ground running in this role. It is a privilege to work with the Bridgeport legislative delegation to continue to move our city forward."

Vickers holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Bridgeport. The UB Alumni Association recognized Vickers as a Rising Star in 2017. In 2018, she was named Connecticut Female Young Democrat of the Year.
