City of Bridgeport Heat Advisory Remains in Effect-- Cooling Centers open Throughout the Day
All Bridgeport Public Libraries and Senior Centers, Greater Bridgeport Transit Bus Terminal Open as Cooling Shelters During the Day
Bridgeport, CT – The City of Bridgeport heat advisory remains in effect today, September 5, 2018. Additional heat advisories may be needed for Thursday. This means all Bridgeport public library branches and senior centers as well as the Greater Bridgeport Transit Terminal will be open during the day as cooling centers for anyone in need during the extreme hot temperatures expected to impact the region for today.
Air quality control alerts are in effect anytime the temperature is above 92 degrees, or the National Weather Service has issued a ‘Heat Advisory’.
Cooling Centers are open during the day at the following locations and times:
- Bridgeport Transit- 1 Cross Street - 203-330-0657
8am through 8pm- Daily
- Bridgeport Library Downtown- 925 Broad St- 203-576-7400
