Bridgeport, CT—Mayor Joseph Ganim, Achievement First students, Public Facilities representatives with Park City Pickin’ It Up volunteers and City Council members today kicked off the Park City Pickin’ It Up anti-litter campaign for the 2018 Citywide Cleanup Season. Students, staff and volunteers divided to cleanup Knowlton Park and plant flowers and trees at Washington Park.
“We started Park City Pickin’ It Up last year and by all accounts it was a successful program. Students, volunteers young and old came together to clean and beautify Bridgeport because truth be told, we all care about Bridgeport. This is a great opportunity to meet your neighbors, make new friends and give our parks and streets a fresh look. We are going to be out here all season long planting flowers, trees, collecting litter and making a difference in the community so do your part to “Pick It Up,” said Mayor Ganim.
Park City Pickin’ It Up is a citywide and community initiative that was launched in April 2017. In conjunction with the city’s “War on Blight,” the campaign focuses on the beautification of the city and overall quality of life for our residents
