Bridgeport Animal Control to Host Benefit Dinner for Outdoor Play Areas

Bridgeport, CT- The Bridgeport Animal Control (BAC) is halfway to their goal of raising $40,000 to build three outdoor play areas for dogs. In order to raise money, the BAC will be hosting a benefit dinner at Vazzano’s Four Seasons in Stratford on Saturday, May 27th at 7:00 P.M. All proceeds from the dinner will go towards their fundraising efforts.
Chief Animal Control Officer Jennifer Wallace said “Our goal is to have the highest adoption rate in the state and I think it’s achievable, especially when we give them resources like these outdoor play areas. We believe that getting these play areas constructed will allow us to provide a better quality of life for these dogs while they wait to find their forever homes.”
In 2016, BAC received the approval to build three large play areas for dogs. These play areas would allow for the dogs to engage in safe fun and social activity. Outdoor play reduces stress for the dogs as they wait to find their new permanent owners and homes which greatly assist in the adoption process.
The event will consist of dinner, entertainment, a silent auction, a 50/50 raffle, and more. Sponsorship opportunities are available.
