Bridgeport, Conn. (September 1, 2015) – To mark the beginning of National Emergency Preparedness Month, Bridgeport’s Emergency Operations Center is reminding residents to have a plan and stay safe.
Director of Emergency Management Scott Appleby will provide tips on what to do before, during, and after a major storm.
"We're working to ensure all residents have a plan and stay informed,” said Scott Appleby, Director of Emergency Management for the City of Bridgeport. “Together we can make sure every neighborhood in Bridgeport is prepared for natural disasters."
The City of Bridgeport Emergency Operations Center has plans in place to make sure the community is prepared for, alerted to and can recover from any potential hurricane or coastal storm.
September is National Preparedness Month. Sponsored by FEMA, National Preparedness Month aims to educate and empower Americans to prepare for and respond to all types of emergencies, including natural disasters.
