9/11/2015 - TOMORROW: Mayor Finch, Bridgeport Fire, Police Honor September 11th Victims

WHAT: Remembrance ceremony honoring the victims of the attacks on the United States on September 11, 2001.

WHEN: 9:45 a.m. on Friday, September 11, 2015.

Bridgeport, Conn. (September 10, 2015) – Tomorrow, Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch, Fire Chief Brian Rooney, Police Chief Joseph Gaudett Jr., and members of the Bridgeport Fire and Police Departments will hold a remembrance ceremony honoring the victims of the attacks on the United States on September 11, 2001.   

The City of Bridgeport will be remembering the victims of the attacks by pulling all of Fire Department apparatuses out in front of each Fire Station and at precisely 9:59 a.m., which is when the South Tower of the World Trade Center collapsed. Fire Department apparatuses will then sound their sirens while firefighters, police officers, and city officials render a salute for 30 seconds.
