7/2/2015 - TODAY: Downtown Thursdays Concert Series Continues with Old School Hip Hop Night

Bridgeport, Conn. (July 2, 2015) – Today, Mayor Bill Finch celebrates the continuing of the Downtown Thursdays concert series with the return of last year’s most popular show, Old School Hip Hop Night. Last year’s show brought a crowd of approximately 2,000 people downtown to see the musical performance.

“The Downtown Thursdays Concert Series has been even more successful than last year,” said Mayor Bill Finch. “We are seeing thousands of people coming downtown for free concerts and free family friendly fun. With the Thursday night crowd comes extra business for local restaurants and shops boosting the economy, revitalizing downtown, and making Bridgeport better every day.”

Old School Hip Hop Night will begin at 5:30 PM and end at 9:00 PM and feature a lineup of 8 DJs, performer Nfinity Mzk, performer DEF Groove, and a special guest DJ. The After-Party Host will be Tiago’s Bar and Grill. This year’s DJ Lineup will be:

  • DJ Billy Busch

  • DJ Santo All Out Brothers

  • DJ Tony Crush

  • DJ J-Roc

  • DJ Kool Keith Jackson

  • DJ Mirthelina Flores Brodie aka DJ MB Flow

  • DJ Queen of Spades

  • DJ Benjamin Grimm aka DJ Showtime aka Uncle Show Digital

    The City, Bridgeport Downtown Special Services District (DSSD), and their partners, will be hosting three more Downtown Thursdays following tonight’s event. Here are the remaining bands are performing this summer:

  • July 16

    Opening Act: Slammin’ Band  

    Headliner: The Wailers

    After Party Host: The Bijou Theatre

The all-ages festivities are free to the public. Beer, wine and water will be sold during the concerts. The City and DSSD will not permit outside alcoholic beverages at the concerts.

Each after-party is 21 and older.

McLevy Green is located just a few short blocks from the Bridgeport Metro North Railroad Station and GBTA.
