Bridgeport, Conn. (March 18, 2015) – Mayor Bill Finch and Green Village Initiative today will announce plans to rebuild a community house damaged in a fire Monday at a neighborhood farm.
“I believe in Green Village Initiative and its mission. We’re committed to rebuilding,” said Mayor Bill Finch. “This is such an important community asset. This garden knits people together and makes a stronger community, and we will do everything we can to support residents to make the neighborhood farm better than ever.”
A fire Monday destroyed a meeting house at the farm. Since then, Mayor Finch and local contractors and businesses have rallied to support Green Village Initiative and the local community to rebuild better than ever.
“I’m blown away by the amount of support from the community, from the mayor’s office and from the schools,” said Monique Bosch, the co-founder of GVI.
