Bridgeport Theatre Company time warps to 1973 this month with The Rocky Horror Picture Show Experience, featuring a movie screening with live floor show, at the Downtown Cabaret Theatre on Friday, Oct. 25, at 7 and 10:30 p.m.
Director Gina Lariccia created the evening in honor of the 40th anniversary of the stage musical, The Rocky Horror Show.
The cast of live actors, comprised of performers who have appeared in
various BTC productions, will be paying tribute to the original show’s
fan club’s concept of “the floor show,” combining the screening of the
film with an ensemble of live actors on stage, audience participation
and the use of props and costumes.
Audience participation at The Rocky Horror Picture Show Experience
is encouraged and dry props will be available for $5 (no wet props).
Attendees are also encouraged to pack picnic dinners/drinks/desserts.
The first screening festivities will include the movie screening,
floor show, and a 50/50 raffle to support BTC’s current 2013-14
mainstage season of musicals and plays. The second screening will
include all of the above, as well as an audience costume contest with
prizes. Doors will open 30 minutes before showtime and seating is
reserved (cabaret table seating).
Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for students and are on sale now at bridgeporttheatre.org
or by calling the Downtown Cabaret Theatre box office at 203-576-1636
option ‘0’. Concessions will be available for purchase throughout each
performance.
This event is open to all ages, but parental discretion is advised,
as event contains mature subject matter not suitable for all audiences.
