After School Youth Employment Program

Youth Services is seeking applications from 50 Juniors and Seniors who are Bridgeport residents and also are 16 or older as of 10/3/2022. We are also seeking applications from 50 College students who need not be Bridgeport residents but who must be currently enrolled and attending one of our surrounding Universities. This will be an opportunity to work with Lighthouse after school children and gain work experience. The program will run from 10/3/22 – 6/2/23 or earlier depending on grant funds. To apply for the After School Youth Employment Program, please fill out the application below. You MUST include the following in your application:

- Copy of Final Report Card or Transcript for the 2021-2022 Academic Year (incoming college Freshman must present proof of enrollment)
- Copy of Proof of Residency (a piece of mail or a school document (such as your report card addressed to
  you at your home)
- Copy of Social Security Card
- Copy of Photo ID (either High School ID, motor vehicle ID or Bridgeport Resident ID)
Please note: Incomplete applications will not be considered. Applicant MUST be willing and able to participate in an in person interview and work after school for the duration. Those involved in sports and clubs that meet regularly will not qualify. Please DO NOT apply.

Maximum number of hours per week is 10. Those selected for employment will work between the hours of 3:00-5:30 and for no more than two hours per day. Lighthouse follows the school schedule and does not operate on half days. Exact hours to be worked out with the site coordinator.
