NEW Guidelines for Trash & Recycling
In observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, brown bag collection and Christmas tree pick-up will be postponed Monday and will resume one day behind the normal recycling day schedule.
Trash and recycling pick-up will remain on schedule.

The Bridgeport Sanitation Division provides weekly curbside collection of all general household solid waste in the City in compliance with all applicable City, State and Federal health, environmental, and safety regulations. Click here to see the Trash Pick up Schedule
The Recycling Division removes recyclable materials from the solid waste stream through collection and transportation to a regional intermediate processing center as prescribed by City ordinance. Recycling provides bi-weekly curbside household recycling collection of glass, metal food containers, newspapers, HDPE & PETE plastics. Click here to see Recycling Pick Up Schedule

In addition, Roadway Department removes and processes leaves and tree trimmings for use in City landscaping projects. All services are provided with strict adherence to all applicable Environmental Protection Agency & Department of Environmental Protection regulations.
The Public Facilities Dept. performs trash & recycling pick-up on every holiday except when Christmas or New Year's falls on a weekday. If Christmas or New Year's falls on a weekday the pick-up schedule will be delayed by one day for all scheduled pick-up days on or following the holiday only.
