Mayor Ganim, City of Bridgeport to Light Downtown Christmas Tree
University of Bridgeport (UB) Soccer Team to Receive "Key to the City"

Bridgeport, CT – Mayor Joe Ganim will join City of Bridgeport residents for the annual Christmas Tree Lighting tonight, December 3, 2018 at 5:15 p.m. at McLevy Green on Bank Street in Bridgeport. Mayor Ganim will also present the University of Bridgeport (UB) Women's Soccer team with the "Key to the City" for winning the 2018 NCAA Division II National Championship.

This year’s Christmas Tree theme is “Winter Wonderland." Children will get the chance to meet Santa as Bridgeport’s Fire Department Engine arrives with his helpers. The night will include musical and dance performances by the Graham Spratley Lighthouse Gospel Choir and the Downtown Cabaret Theater Cast of "The Christmas Elf", along with special guest appearance from Star 99.9 FM. Refreshments will be provided by local restaurants and bakeries.

During the holiday celebration, the City of Bridgeport and the Greater Bridgeport Christian Fellowship Church will be collecting monetary donations to repurchase toys that were stolen over the weekend. The donations collected will be used to provide 6,000 local children with gifts.
