The Bridgeport Public Library serves as the principal public library for the City of Bridgeport. Our superb historical collections/ genealogy department attracts visitors from all over the world.

Bridgeport-Sikorsky Airport

Bridgeport-Sikorsky Airport is the City of Bridgeport Municipal Airport and provides a number of services as a non-commercial flight airport. The airport goal is to maximize the airport’s economic and public service value to the City and this region, as well as providing a safe and secure aviation facility for the public and general and corporate aviation.

Central Grants

The Central Grants Office reviews, prepares, and submits grant applications to various funding sources on behalf of the City of Bridgeport and monitors the budgetary and financial aspects of grant use for compliance.

Bridgeport Department on Aging ensures that all Bridgeport Seniors will be able to reach their full potential by providing opportunities for socialization, elderly education, information and referrals and other supportive services.

Emergency Management & Homeland Security

The mission of the Office of Emergency Management & Homeland Security/ Local Emergency Planning Committee (OEM/LEPC) is to protect the lives and property of citizens in the City of Bridgeport.

Family Health & Wellness Clinic

The Family Health & Wellness Clinic of the Bridgeport Health and Social Services Department has a mission to identify, treat and prevent the spread of communicable disease within the City of the Bridgeport. Some diseases including COVID-19, Influenza (flu), STDs, and Tuberculosis (TB).

Finance

The Finance Department manages all accounting and financial operations for the City. This includes financial reports to the City Council and Mayor and the City's Comprehensive Annual Financial Reports.

Labor Relations

The Office of Labor Relations serves employees of the City of Bridgeport. Our Office also oversees the Benefits Administration and Human Resources.

Licensing & Permits

This department issues and manages contractor, hauler, licenses and permits to perform street and sidewalk excavation within the City of Bridgeport. This is the office to contact if you are a contractor, or hauler who needs more information on rules and regulations governing street and sidewalk excavation in the city. This office also provides Occupancy Permits to occupy the public right of way.

Office of Policy & Management

The Office of Policy and Management (OPM), prepares and reviews the city budget; guides and monitors performance of departments; oversees the implementation of Management Improvements; Prepares the three-year financial plan and monthly financial reports and reviews and works to improve department systems and operations for maximum efficiency.

Public Facilities Department provides city residents and taxpayers with these services: trash and recycling pickup, street cleaning, roadway related maintenance, lines and signs division, snow plowing, sanding and salting, leaf pickup.

Purchasing

The Purchasing Department is responsible for the procurement of goods and services for the City of Bridgeport.

Registrar of Voters

The Registrar of Voters office is responsible for conducting citywide elections, assisting the public with new and existing registrations and providing information to proposed and existing candidates for office.

Small & Minority Business Enterprise

The Small and Minority Business Enterprise Department works to support and promote the growth of small and minority-owned businesses within the city. We interact with business owners by providing resources and support to help them start, grow, and sustain their businesses.

Tax Assessor

The Tax Assessor's Office discovers, lists and values all real estate, personal property and motor vehicles located in the City of Bridgeport to compile the Grand List. We also administer tax relief programs and apply exemptions.


Tax Collector

The mission of the Tax Collector is to collect all tax revenue due to the City in accordance with Connecticut State Statutes and to provide the taxpayers of the City with information and assistance.

Town Clerk

The Town Clerk serves as the keeper of Land Records, Map filings, Trade Name Registrations, Dog Licenses, Military Discharges, Notary Registrations, issuing of Absentee Ballots.

Vital Records

As a vital records office, our main responsibility is to keep track of and manage important documents related to people's life events, such as birth, marriage, and death certificates.

Water Pollution Control Authority (WPCA)

The Water Pollution Control Authority (WPCA) operates two wastewater treatment facilities and maintains the sewer system in the City of Bridgeport by collecting and treating wastewater generated by the residents of the cities of Bridgeport and surrounding areas.

Zoning Department

The Zoning Department encourages the development and preservation of sustainable land uses which promote the health, safety, quality of life and overall general welfare of Bridgeport. This is accomplished through the adoption of the Master Plan of Conservation and Development, which guides the zoning and historic regulations.
