Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT)
All candidates applying to become a Bridgeport firefighter must have the Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) certification.
The Bridgeport Fire Department will be providing CPAT training sessions by a certified instructor, free of charge to anyone interested in familiarizing themselves with the CPAT test. This is open to residents and non-residents of The City of Bridgeport. Slots will be limited to 1 hour sessions on assigned dates with a limit of 10 people per session. Anyone who has applied for CPAT scholarship waivers will be required to sign up for a minimum of 4 sessions to meet eligibility requirements. Click here to sign up for CPAT training sessions.
