DOES THE CITY PROVIDE BULK TRASH PICKUP? The City of Bridgeport provides a Household Bulk pickup by appointment. To schedule an appointment by calling 203-576-3950.  You can bring bulk items to the City’s Transfer Station located at 475 Asylum St. If you place bulk items in front of your home/business without scheduling an appointment for household bulk pickup, will result in a fine of $100 per day for violation of Ordinance 8.60.060 – for Unlawful Depositing.

Hazardous/Medical Materials are not accepted at the Transfer Station at 475 Asylum St. The City of Bridgeport provides a drop off location once a year. For more information regarding disposal of hazardous materials you may contact at 203-576-7130.

HOW DO I GET RID OF MY YARD WASTE AND LEAVES?

Leaves are to be bagged brown leaf bags that are biodegradable. Bagged leaves are collected on the same day as your recycling schedule. They are also welcome at the Transfer Station at 475 Asylum St.

Residents with questions or concerns on paving of streets should contact the Councilperson in their district. The city meets with your district councilperson to discuss the paving needs of your district.
